Using Shotgun metagenomics for disease prediction
Analysis of the human microbiome using metagenomic sequencing data has demonstrated high ability in discriminating various human diseases. There has been significant success in research associating human gut microbiome with such diseases as diabetes, Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), colon cancer, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), cirrhosis and many more.
In this notebook I explore an approach to predicting cirrhosis based on the publicly available metagenomic data.
